Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 1:
All the aspects of the footwear lasting and making work ticket are identified, understood and described.
The machinery and equipment relevant to the footwear lasting and making work ticket is identified.
The footwear lasting and making materials, consumables and components relevant to the work ticket are identified.
The product style and lasts are identified as specified in the work ticket.
The relevant footwear lasting and making production process and operations are identified.
Sizes and quantity per size are established according to the work ticket.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 2:
Types of lasting related to the product being manufactured are described.
The various lasting/making components are identified.
The construction of various footwear lasting/making relative to construction types is described.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 3:
Safe working practices are applied.
Footwear lasting and making machines and equipment are set and adjusted.
Footwear lasting and making machinery is operated to process lasting making product.
Sound housekeeping procedures are justified.
All mechanical problems are timeously identified and reported.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 4:
The relevant steps and sequence of the steps in the lasting and in the making process are identified according to the production flow.
The roles of temperature, pressure and dwell times in lasting and making processes are evaluated.
The roles of stress, moisture, heat and chilling (curing) in achieving shape retention in leather and non-leather materials in the lasting of the upper, and in the moulding of back parts and toe-puffs are explained.
The importance of the correct preparation of surfaces for the application of adhesives on both leather and non-leather material for bonding is explained.
The importance of the correct application of primers, solvents and adhesives and their relevant curing and drying times is explained.

Integrated Assessment:
Integrated Formative Assessment:
Skills development providers will use the curriculum to guide them on the stipulated internal assessment criteria and weighting. They will also apply the scope of practical skills and applied knowledge as stipulated by the internal assessment criteria. This formative assessment leads to entrance into the integrated external summative assessment.

Integrated Summative Assessment:
An external integrated summative assessment, conducted through the relevant Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) Assessment Quality Partner is required for the issuing of this qualification. The external integrated summative assessment will focus on the exit level outcomes and associated assessment criteria.
