Can the learner:

4. Demonstrate the applied competence to develop a macrovision of the management of ETD, both locally and internationally, and evaluate the impact of globalisation on the field of ETD.

5. Demonstrate the applied competence to practice an acceptable social sensitivity by promoting a strong teamship within his/her own environment, the field of ETD and HRD by working effectively in teams and reflecting on decisions made within that team.

6. Demonstrate the applied competence to apply theoretical aspects of self-responsibility by organising and co-coordinating own and environmental resources and opportunities in ETD and reflecting upon the application of such principles.

7. Demonstrate the applied competence to allocate and utilise appropriate technological resources in the field of ETD.

8. Demonstrate the applied competence to explore various learning strategies, apply the most appropriate one and evaluate the effectiveness of the learning strategy applied.

9. Demonstrate the applied competences to acquire acceptable employment seeking skills for entry into the field of ETD, using all the theoretical principles and reflecting on the effectiveness of such applications.

10. Demonstrate the applied competence to promote community development and Adult Basic Education and Training in such a manner to ensure effective training and facilitation is implemented in these communities, and reflect on the value of the development provided.

11. Develop applied competence in the application of his/her occupation and the impact of World Class Practices in the field of Education, Training and Development within the organisation, ensuring that the learners are able to position themselves for effective participation in the both Occupational and Education, Training and Development Fields.

Formative assessment practices that will be implemented:

Learners are assessed continually during the qualification, by means of written assignments and in-house projects, which are combined into Portfolios of Assessment. Assessment is based on the outcomes of the module and the nature of the assessment is based on the Module, i.e. the facilitation module is assessed by means of videotape where the learner demonstrates his ability to facilitate a learning programme.

Summative assessment practices that will be implemented:

Integrated assessment, focusing on the achievement of the exit-level outcomes, will be done by means of an integrative project. This project will result in the learner attaining either an Advanced Certificate in Facilitation, or an Advanced Certificate in Design and Development, depending on their selected route of study. Learners, who wish to attain the full Diploma, proceed to attaining the remaining credits by completing a further three modules, one of which is an elective, in their third year of study.
An integrative project is completed on all modules covered throughout the diploma.
