4. The learner will be able to:
Conduct a comprehensive health assessment and diagnosis of individuals, groups and communities in a variety of setting in which oncology nursing takes place including:

Formulate institutional policies to control infections.
Implement a promotive/preventive plan to address the health needs of the compromised patient
Participate in reviewing the effectiveness of quality assurance programmes to control infections

Assess, plan and implement oncology nursing care plans for the treatment of cancer
Evaluate the process and outcomes of the implementation of oncology nursing care plans for the patient, in collaboration with the patient and multidisciplinary health team
Implement protective isolation principles of nursing and infection control measures for the immuno-compromised cancer patient
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary approach with referrals to support services
Act as a consultant in the multidisciplinary oncology team
