Specific assessment criteria:

3. Improve nursing care according to identified health needs/problems.
4. Give health information and support in self care and in the care of the newborn baby.
5. Assist mother to initiate and maintain breastfeeding.
6. Manage complications arising and or refer appropriately.
Five
1. Carry out a comprehensive assessment of the neonate.
2. Interpret data to formulate a nursing diagnosis.
3. Plans and implements care for health needs identified.
4. Identify accurately and manage competently complication arising in the neonate and refer appropriately.
5. Inform parents of condition and progress of baby.
Six
