The qualifying learner achieving this unit standard in combination with context expertise standard(s) will be able to identify health needs and plan a locally-relevant health intervention in the context of water and sanitation improvement projects. Learners accessing this standard will be working in health and hygiene promotion teams. This competence will enable the learner to promote health awareness in communities, contributing to improved environmental health and socio-economic well-being within a community and preserving environmental resources for future generations. Achieving this unit standard will provide foundational learning that will advance his / her expertise and employability in the water and other related sectors.
