A learner should provide evidence of learning competency (knowledge, skills and attitude) by means of the following:
1. A research report proving expertise in the field of study. At least two external examiners, apart from the promoter(s) will determine the acceptance or not of the thesis.
2. The draughting of a framework for a publication complying with the standard of an accredited journal in the field of study.
Integrated assessment:
Competence is achieved, through continuous assessment by demonstrating the ability to achieve the outcomes of the Qualification.
A proposal and the successful defending of the proposed research before a panel of at least three lecturers.
A thesis submitted after at least two years after registration and preparation in consultation with the promoter(s), and in which the learner delivered proof of advanced research.
Examination of the thesis by internal and external examiners.
Assessment documents are moderated to ensure that:
They conform to the scope and context of the competency as stipulated in the qualification.
They are constructed in such a way that the Assessor assessed the critical outcomes applied, during the Learners activity performances, towards achieving an outcome.
Assessments are:
To include confirmation of the Embedded Knowledge component to ensure that the Foundational Competency is achieved.
To be verified by Internal Verifiers to ensure valid, credible, true and fair results.
