1. On completion of this programme the learner should demonstrate the ability to:-
Utilise nursing knowledge of the patho-physiological and psychological responses to provide nursing care plans to the sick/high risk neonate, child and adolescent
Perform a nursing assessment and diagnosis of the high-risk neonate, child and adolescent
Review and evaluate interventions and make appropriate adaptations to the child-nursing plan
Evaluate the child’s response to nursing care plans

Participate in the formulation of appropriate health education programmes for the sick child/child at risk and their families
Collaborate and participate in community-based programmes for the prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases/conditions in children
Collaborate with relevant role players and members of the multidisciplinary team in the rehabilitation of the child to promote quality of life
