The assessor will evaluate the students ability to work within a variety of technological mediums to produce in integrated solution to the requirements of the brief.
Integrated Assessment:
Every student is given guidance in developing a personal portfolio for presentation to potential employers. The diploma is suitable for those wanting direct access to the clothing industry. It also serves as a preparation for advanced study at degree and advanced diploma level. The Fashion Design Diploma course of the London College of Arts is exclusive, and is promoted worldwide. Colleges offering this Diploma advertise worldwide and attract student from many different countries, therefore their courses are designed to meet international needs and standards.
The student will experience this through particular assignment/projects which are primarily design based, and include conceptual and practical experience, building expertise through exploration and identification. These are multi-layered and inter-disciplinary and develop more complexity as the programme develops. They require the student to demonstrate the ability to understand and evaluate the requirements of any problem, and by the use of a variety of methods and techniques provide a creative solution that effectively solves the problem. Study areas are interdependent, thus encouraging a cohesive and imaginative learning process.
The course in learner based and students must be responsible for their own time management in fulfilling project briefs and meeting presentation deadlines. Students will learn to take the project from initial briefing to final presentation of their work through a combination of tutoring and personal exploration.
Team work, individual assignments, with relative industrial background, contact with practicing professionals (where appropriate) and personal development will encourage a confident, independent and professional attitude that will prove an invaluable asset in the outside world.
The marketing and professional practice subjects equip our student for work in the retail and merchandise sector as well as the skills to start up a business.
