Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 1:
Production processes and footwear materials are described and discussed.
The quality requirements for footwear closed uppers are identified.
Footwear uppers for closing are identified according to style, size, colour and quality.
Deviations in the production process, which will affect safety, health, quality or efficiency are recognised and correctly responded to.
Terminology used in the footwear manufacturing industry is defined and applied in recording and reporting practices.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 2:
Various types of product, process and machine faults are identified.
The impact of fault(s) on subsequent footwear closing processes is evaluated.
The causes of the faults are identified and responded to.
The importance of product, process and machine faults are explained.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 3:
Compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements is achieved when operating machines and equipment.
Consequences of not using appropriate personal protective equipment are analysed.
The impact of incorrect disposal of waste/chemicals on the environment and the organisation is assessed.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 4:
Ways to achieve quality consistency in the closing process are identified and analysed.
The importance of compliance with safety standards is justified.
Risks related to the footwear closing process are evaluated.
The role of examining footwear closed component parts for flaws, defects, stretch direction, etc. in the achievement of correct and consistent product quality is evaluated.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 5:
The importance of compliance with industry standards for quality and quantity of production and time, quality and quantity targets is evaluated.
Aspects in the footwear closing process which may compromise productivity are listed and argued.
The impact of non-conformance to quality and quantity targets on production and profit is analysed.

Integrated Assessment:

Formative Assessment:
The skills development providers will use the Curriculum to guide them on the stipulated internal assessment criteria and weighting. They will also apply the scope of practical skills and applied knowledge as stipulated by the internal assessment criteria. This formative assessment leads to entrance into the integrated external summative assessment.

Summative Assessment:
An external integrated summative assessment, conducted through the relevant QCTO Assessment Quality partner, is required for the issuing of this Qualification. The external integrated summative assessment will focus on the exit level outcomes and associated assessment criteria.
The assessment will include a practical demonstration as a Phase Test at an approved assessment site, conducted by an Assessor registered with the AQP. The external summative assessment will be conducted through a final theoretical assessment (oral or written) conducted in the workplace, and evaluated by an Assessor registered with the AQP.
