Assume you have been asked to write a speech of own choice to a group of audience. Examples can be:
- Effects of smoking on teenagers;
- The impact of unemployment in my community.
Use the following questions as guidelines,
- Define the purpose and the target audience for your speech.
- Write the report (attach it in your POE). Ensure that;
- Grammar, diction, and sentence and paragraph structure are controlled.
- there is logical sequencing of ideas and overall unity
- Potentially offensive language is identified and removed.
- That your arguments are supported with sound reasons and your writing reflects a clear point of view and shows logical development.
- Paragraphs conventions, including links between paragraphs in texts, promotes coherence and cohesion in writing.
- The overall structure of the speech is controlled and the conclusion is clearly formulated.
- The is clear demonstration of research skills basing on the way in which data and information is identified, located and selected for inclusion in the final text. (30 marks)
